Fabulous trimmer - the fastest and best - no deburring required

I own several of these in various calibers. They are extremely good on the 223 and accurate to within a 001 or 002 once you get it set up correctly. No deburring required either, which saves another step. The trick is to get it set up correctly. Ideal setup is for you to set it to 1.751 or 1.752 then trim and measure all your cases. you can resize the ones that are too long (1.753) or longer by pushing them harder into the trimmer. The ones that are too long after that i usually throw away; about 1 out of 50 fail. I suppose you could run those through the sizing die again and re-trim, but, i have been throwing out of spec ones in the trash.

Slick, once set up trimming is a breeze

The .308 trimmer does not perform like the 30.06 and .223. When you trim, brass goes into the trimmer ok, but when trying to extract the brass, it often hangs up and requires a lot of pressure to get the case out.

Great item, one that individual reloaders should welcome to their reloading bench. Smooth and easy to use, but a bit touchy when it comes to setting trim depth. Other than that, I now have two of these tools, one for .223, and one for 30.06. Next will be one for .308.

I originally bought one of these very high quality Little Crow trimmers in .223/5.56, and after getting it set up right I liked it so well that I bought another in another rifle caliber that I am hand loading. I think they are worth the expense in time savings over my former method of case trimming - the Lee Quick Trim tool and dies. Of course, you will also want a 3/8" hand drill with a constant speed lock on it to use this trimmer, but I already had one in my toolbox. The only con I can mention is that the set-up is a bit fiddly, as the trimmer tends to trim shorter than the correct length guide case I tried use to set the set screws. I used slightly longer guide cases until it was set to cut to the length I wanted. Then, it was set it and forget it for that caliber. Now it takes about ten seconds and almost no effort to pick a resized case out of one basket, hold it in the trimmer it for a few seconds, and drop it into another basket. You will also want to use your hearing protection against the constant noise of your drill. I would give it four and a half stars if I could, with a small deduction for the initial set-up fiddling. It would be nice if this caliber-specific trimmer came with an idiot-proof minimum set depth so that it would automatically trim cases to the official "trim to" length (but no shorter), while allowing for discretionary longer trims.

Fast and easy to use. I do several hundred cases in an hour. This tool and a cartridge prep station have taken the drudgery out of case prep for me.
