Alley Aperture Front Sight M14/M1A

I put the sight on a M1A1 with the investment cast receiver, Criterion Medium Weight match barrel, modified spring guide, Titanium nitrated gas piston, trigger group reworked and is a consistent 4 lbs. pull, Archangel stock, upgraded bolt lock and mag release, swapped out the flash suppressor for a tanker type compensater. The base is a nice tight interference fit over the anvil and is just .005 on a side thinner, than the base, so centering it was no problem. I have only 500 rounds through it but so far, there has been no problem with either the the housing or the inserts coming loose or moving. So once I got the dope on the rifle, there has been no change, all the way out to 500 meters. I only wish that it came with a larger selection of inserts. One of the best upgrades to my rifle, so far. Outstanding gentlemen!

Love this sight. I mounted it on a Springfield NM. My ends are getting older and seeing the front post sight clearly was getting difficult. With the aperture I have a clear sight picture and my group sizes shrank with an immediate improvement in my scores. The sight was easy to install as it is about the same width as the base, so visually centering it was not a problem. Would have been nice if it was 22mm so I could use Anschutz type inserts and/or an adjustable aperture, but that is a small concern.
