Invented and patented by a competitive rifle shooter, this unique rifle case trimmer, powered by an industrial quality 1500 rpm motor, combines three reloading operations into one. It simultaneously trims cases to the proper set length with a 90 angle to the axis of the case, puts a chamfer on the inside of the neck, and removes the burr from around the outside surface of the cartridge neck. You can easily average 12 cases a minute with this power tool. It is simple to operate. Simply grasp the cartridge case between thumb and forefinger and insert the case into the case holder pushing it against the dual cutters and rotating the case 180.

I have owned a Gracey trimmer for ten years, during which I have trimmed many thousands of cases. It's terrifically reliable and fast. Probably the only downside is when one switches from .223 to .308. It's a bit of a chore to adjust the cutter. Fortunately I only do that very infrequently. It's a great tool and you will be pleased with it.

Inspite of Mr Moses issues with oil(don't add so much) and no on or off switch(I just unplug mine)... and having so much trouble adjusting the cutters(I have the ORIGINAL cutters and the extra ones tapped to the mount) which I have had not one problem setting them up after sharpening them but that could be that I've had a background in mechanical assembly of detailed machines parts this tool has kept this High Power XTC Service Rifle Class going full speed ahead for 30 years!!! I have had small issues but that's with the rubber hose that is used to turn the cutter shaft... its brilliant no chatter and it acts as a shock absorber dampening the cutting head chatter which is nonexistent... so I have NOTHING but high praise for Mr Gracey's machine as it's a Jewel!!!

There's more than a little room for improvement in this device. The documentation say that a little oil seepage onto the shaft is "normal". But oil seeping onto a rapidly spinning shaft does what? It slings out in a rainbow of oil droplets. I had oil slung all over my bench before I wised up and laid a old rag over the spinning shaft to catch the spray. Next I was really surprised to find there is no on/off switch. You turn it on and off by plugging it in and unplugging it. Now of course a switched plug strip fixes that but, really ...... how much wold it cost to add a simple thing like that when you think about the cost versus the utility trade-off. Most of all, though, I found adjusting it to be really difficult. If the inside debur is good but you need to adjust the outside debur, you are screwed. You can't adjust the outside cutter without taking loose the inside cutter. I wasted a dozen or so cases before I got the cutting head where I wanted it. But I'll lose that setting if I trim a different caliber so I'll have to waste a dozen or more cases with every caliber change and change back. That being said, it is possible to get a good trim and debur on both the inside and outside edge with this device once you've paid the adjustment price. Given what I know now, if I had it to do over again, I would not buy this one. But having sunk that much money into it, I guess I'm stuck with it.

Have owned and used one for over a decade, trimming .223, .308 and .30-06. A few things to note- -trimmer head spaces off the case shoulder, so if your shoulder location, or your neck, varies due to different brass hardness, (mfr, #loads, etc) your overall length will vary too. -The trimmer head is a plain bearing and will wear-in a bit as you use it. Trim depth will vary and you have to check it and adjust it until you have used the trimmer for an hour or so. -blade adjustment is a bit fussy, but once you learn how to set up the blades, it works nicely. Does take me about 10 minutes to do properly. It is nice to not have to buy a separate cutter head for each caliber. -I use this for bulk ammo, not for match ammo, so I generally set the trimmer for the middle of the range between max and trim-to length and 99% of the cases come out within that range. -it was worth $180 when I bought it. Am shooting more now and thinking of having one trimmer for one caliber, but present prices I am looking at other trimmers. Rated at 4 stars because I can't give 3 1/2, and three would be unfairly low.

I received the trimmer, plugged it in to make sure it worked, and it hummed, but didn't turn. When I gave the motor a spin with my had, it kind of weakly spun. I noticed that the motor shaft and the trimmer did not appear to be perfectly aligned, so I loosened the motor and adjusted the alignment.. This fixed the problem, and the motor seems to have plenty of power to spin the cutting blades. I tried trimming a case with the blades as set, and it was pretty ragged. I had ordered a carbide blade (at the same time I ordered the Gracey, based on reviews I had read) from Bob Jones ..... $30. I put the single piece carbide blade on (very easy to adjust), and am up and running with my trimming system... Don't mess with the two piece blade system that comes with the Gracey, it is difficult to work with and the carbide blade is money well spent (some say it will last the life of the trimmer)... Only 4 stars because of the motor alignment and need to put a real blade on.. otherwise, very happy..
