Each leather service rifle sling is hand-stitched by Ron Brown. The sling is made from the highest quality leather available, Hermann Oak Leather; a company in business since 1881. All rifle slings are edged and creased; embossed with the Eagle Match Logo; and holes are numbered. All hardware is government spec; D-rings are oversized and parkerized; and frog hooks are made by Waterbury Buckle, the oldest government contractor still making buckles in the United States. Prior to shipping, all slings are treated with neat's-foot oil guaranteeing years of use in the harshest conditions. This is simply the highest quality rifle sling money can buy. Service rifle slings are available in saddle-tan and black. All slings are 54" but easily cut to desired length- 1 1/4".
Tips-
In order to make your Ron Brown Rifle Sling more limber, these suggestions may help: Using a round, smooth surface, like on a coat hanger rod or round table leg, run the sling back and forth on the flesh side, vigorously, as though you are polishing a pair of shoes. This will break down the fibers in the leather so they will be more limber and flexible. Ron Brown does this to every sling before it leaves his factory, but because leather is a natural product, each piece differs from the other and it may need more attention. With use, all leather will limber, but this will bring faster results.
Do not use Neetsfoot oil on top of Ron Brown's Aussie conditioner because it affects the leather negatively. When the slings leave their workshop, they are all ready to go and should be good for years.

Top quality leather sling for NRA high power
Jun 11, 2018Very high quality sling with excellent leather quality, strong frogs and d-ring as well as high quality stitching. Keepers are tight and won't slip. Length (51 inch) is correct for AR-15 service rifle competition. There are less expensive slings out there but this one is top quality.

Jan 20, 2018Very pleased with the quality, craftsmanship, and thickness of the leather! Using this for both M1 and AR matches. I tried getting by with a cheap leather sling and once you get a cheap one broke in it will start to stretch, the Ron Brown Sling ain't gunna stretch. Can't imagine why anyone would have remorse over purchasing the Ron Brown Brown sling. Thank you CREEDMOOR!

Jul 9, 2017The Ron Brown sling is the best sling I have ever seen. The leather quality makes all my other slings look cheap. The stitching is also surperior to everything I own. One thing of caution they come in two sizes. I ordered the larger one and being only 5.6 it is too big for me. Sines I treated it with a heavy coat of Turners Leather Dresing I cannot return. So I will keep it for one of my other rifles and order the smaller version for my National Match M1A. Over all I don't think you can get a better sling.

May 20, 2017I just bought my second Ron Brown sling. I can't think of a single way this could be improved. The leather is first-rate and the craftsmanship is outstanding. The leather is nice and thick. It does need a little breaking in, and the hooks are hard to get into a set of holes the first few times but they'll still stay put after the thousandth time they go in.

May 18, 2017The quality of the sling is second to none, simply outstanding! With all the cheap leather products being sold nowadays is a true pleasure to own such a quality leather sling. I paired it up with an M1D Garand I recently received from the CMP and together they remind me of a day when we (the United States) produced top quality products that would last for generations. I expect to hand-down my treasure to my grandson. The M1 is a piece of history and the Ron Brown sling a piece of leather art!

The keepers are without equal, have world class stitching, move when you want them to and stay put when you need them to. After experiencing this sling, I wouldn't choose another manufacturer's when it comes to leather 1097s. Top notch!
