Schuster M1A/M14 Vented Gas Plug

Made from hardened tool steel and parkerized. M1A Gas plug is vented and bored 58% greater volume in the plug area. Greater volume and venting equals 2600 psi less pressure (avg.) on op-rod. Cleaning drill with handle, and tip cleaner included.

Service rifle legal 1/64" hole per CMP rules!
Has the same appearance and configuration as original; CMP 4th Edition #4-13-B-b.

A useful addition to a great rifle

This part looks and fits right, and works very well. It makes recoil with heavy bullets and stout powder loads feel more like a Garand with ball ammo, reduces case stretch in my supermatch by ..004, and pretty much eliminates extractor damage to the case heads. The cases also don't chew up the edge of the stock as much, and land in a tighter pattern for easier pick up. I have had no failures to feed or extract, even with 135SMK's loaded to 2800 fps. The cleaning tools that are included are well made, but the cleaning wires are so light that they can be easily lost. Making a flag out of brightly colored tape at the handle end of the wire solves that problem.

hi thank you for the fast service, installed this new gas plug on my m1a, used 165 gr and 175 gr and 180 gr ,rifle ran good I did feel less recoil specially with the 175 gr and 180 gr, that was 100 rounds each.

This plug fit my rifle very well it does have the vent hole as specified in the advertising. I have not shot a round through the rifle though since installing but will in the next several months of competition.
