Leather is fake. Real leather would take Neatsfoot oil and darken. I oiled one and it's the exact same as the one I did not oil. Don't waste your money on these, spend the extra $10 to get genuine leather keepers from Turner, https://turnersling.com/competition-grade-heavy-keepers-pair/

Owner Response: Thank you for your comments. These keepers are leather as I've confirmed this with the manufacturer, Field Slings.

Stay tight in matches

I have been restitching the keepers on my match slings and added these to my last order out of curiosity. I found that I could barely get them on the sling and that they are difficult to move. Perfect. Absolutely perfect.

When I got my sling from Springfield Armory the keepers were just butted together and crossed stiched. Very poor. Your keepers are fantastic the stiching is great. I wish Springfield would have used these instead. These work great and look like they are from the 50's. Great job

Good keepers

These keepers are the right size, unlike the loose / sloppy ones they were purchased to replace. They fit and hold the sling properly. Only four stars right now since I cannot assess their durability.

Excellent sling keepers

Bought the keepers for an old US Army issued M-1 rifle sling. The keepers were well made, neatly sewn and of high quality leather. They fit the sling snugly (as they should), moved smoothly and held their position. The brown color was very close to the sling color which was surprising since the sling is almost 75 years old.

These replace keepers on an El Indio sling bought here twenty five years ago. Nice and tight now.
