bought the miso lens and a NM rear hood, however the rear hood did not fit in my rear sight base, had to grind down the sides for it to fit. pain in the A$$ to do so. not happy with the outcome, too sloppy once fitted. I guess I will shop around for a hood elsewhere.
Owner Response: Thank you for taking time to review this product. Due to the inconsistencies in the sight manufacturing, the hoods are intentionally oversized. It is required that you stone the rail to fit your particular sight.
National Match rear sight aperture

To fit this sight to your M1A, only a small amount of material removal from each side of the gear slide is necessary. With micrometer in hand, and the old sight as a pattern, I found that it was not necessary to match the pattern exactly. By counting repetitions on the whetstone, and matching side to side, I had a precise fit at about 0.0025 over the original sight aperture.
