Sales Tax Information

Do you charge sales tax?

Yes. Creedmoor Sports charges applicable state and local sales taxes in states where we have an obligation to collect sales tax. We follow each state’s rules based on the shipping address where the order is received.

Are gift certificates taxed?

  • No tax is charged when purchasing a gift certificate.
  • A purchase paid for with a gift certificate may be subject to tax.

What if sales tax is not collected on my order?

If tax is not collected, your purchase may be subject to use tax in your state unless your purchase is exempt or your state does not impose sales and use tax. Many states allow you to report and pay use tax on your state individual income tax return or by filing a use tax return with your state tax administrator.

Tax-Exempt & Government Orders

How do I submit my tax-exempt certificate?

Email a copy of your tax-exempt certificate to custserv@creedmoorsports.com. Once approved, the exemption will be applied to your account for future eligible purchases.

How do I place a tax-exempt order?

For tax-exempt customers, Creedmoor Sports must have a copy of your state’s Sales/Use Tax Exemption paperwork on file before you place your order. Otherwise, where applicable, we are required to collect sales tax at the tax rate effective at the time the order is processed.

Unfortunately, we cannot refund sales tax collected on sales prior to receiving the signed Sales/Use Tax Exemption form(s).

Government/Military orders

We must collect your tax-exempt certificate providing your tax-exempt ID number.

Are there restrictions on ammunition shipments?

Yes. Ammunition shipments must comply with all federal, state, and local requirements, and some locations have additional restrictions. Please review our full policy here: Ammunition Restrictions.

Can you ship ammunition to my state? What if I have an FFL03 or COE?

Ammunition shipping regulations vary by state and local laws. Please review our Ammunition Restrictions page for the most up-to-date information, including FFL03 and COE requirements.

  • Ammunition cannot be shipped internationally.
  • Adult signature may be required upon delivery.

Product Availability

Do you have large or small rifle primers?

We do not carry primers at this time.

The item I want is out of stock. Can I place a backorder?

Discounts & Rewards

Do you offer a military or veterans discount?

We do not currently have the ability to offer a standing military or veterans discount. We do run promotions throughout the year, so we recommend signing up for emails and checking the website for current offers.

How do I access my CASH (Rewards) account?

Look for the green Rewards button on the website to view your CASH rewards and available options.

Shooting Coats (Custom Made)

When are shooting coats charged?

Shooting coats are charged in full at the time of order because they are custom made to your specifications.

How long does it take to receive a Hardback shooting coat?

Delivery times vary, but usually 14–16 weeks. Deluxe Canvas coats may only take a few weeks. You will receive an email with an estimated ship date once your order is processed.

How do I measure for a shooting coat?

  • Measure your chest while wearing a light t-shirt.
  • Do not go by suit coat size.
  • A tapered coat is recommended if your waist is 4–6 inches smaller than your chest (example: 42" chest, 36" waist).

What is a Hardback shooting coat?

The Hardback Coat has an extra piece of heavy cotton down the center back. There is no plastic or “hard” material in the coat. The Hardback coat will not impede your sitting or prone position.

How do I clean my shooting coat?

  • Use a mild detergent (such as Woolite) and water.
  • Spray the coat lightly and scrub inside and out.
  • Rinse lightly and allow to air dry.
  • Do NOT dry clean, soak, or use other cleaning methods—this can damage the coat.

Shooting Mats

What’s the difference between the Basics (B040) and the Creedmoor (N040) Roll-up mat?

The Creedmoor Roll-up Mat (N040) includes a vinyl laminate on the bottom. This makes the mat more water resistant and helps it last longer than the Basics mat (B040).

Rifle Slings

What sling is required for NRA Service Rifle competition?

A 1 1/4" sling must be used in NRA Service Rifle competition. Any other sling type will place you in the Match Rifle category.

What sling length do I need?

  • AR-15: You will need at least a 54" sling.
  • M14/M1A and M1 Garand: A 50" sling is typically fine, depending on your height and build.

Spotting Scopes

Why does objective lens size matter?

A larger objective lens gathers more light, which can increase how far and how clearly you can see. As a rule, the larger the objective lens, the better.

What if I wear glasses?

If you wear glasses, you will want an eyepiece that has long eye relief for easier, more comfortable viewing.

Scope Stands

What’s the difference between a zoom head and a saddle head?

  • Zoom head: Similar to a camera mount and screws directly into the bottom of the scope (threaded mount required).
  • Saddle head: Clamps around the scope. If your scope does not have a threaded mount, this is the only option.

Should I buy a tripod or a bipod?

A tripod is recommended over a bipod for larger, heavier scopes. Keep your next scope purchase in mind—if you plan to upgrade to a larger scope, a tripod is typically the better choice.

Miscellaneous Product Fit Questions

The M14/M1A/M1 NM Hooded Rear Sight Aperture (C1113) fits all three rifles listed. The .0520 aperture is the most popular.
