The Berger 22 Caliber 85.5 Grain Long Range Hybrid Target bullet is engineered for competitive precision rifle shooters and long range accuracy enthusiasts who demand exceptional consistency and repeatable performance at extended distances.

Built using Berger’s advanced and proprietary Meplat Reduction Technology (MRT), each bullet is manufactured with controlled pressure applied to the projectile nose. This process produces a uniform, repeatable bullet profile and delivers industry leading ballistic coefficient consistency from shot to shot.

The 85.5gr LR Hybrid Target features a high BC, jump tolerant hybrid ogive design that is Doppler radar verified with less than 1 percent BC variation. While high BC is critical for long range performance, BC consistency is what truly matters when engaging targets at 600 yards and beyond. These bullets are optimized for fast twist .22 caliber rifles, making them an excellent choice for cartridges such as .224 Valkyrie, .22 Creedmoor, and other high velocity .22 caliber platforms using 1:8 twist barrels.

The combination of Berger’s hybrid ogive profile, MRT technology, consistent core construction, and J4 Precision Target Jacket results in reduced vertical dispersion, less wind drift, and a higher hit probability at long range.

Hybrid Ogive- Hybrid Ogives blend the best aspects of tangent and secant nose shapes into one ogive. Near the bearing surface, the shape starts off as a tangent, which makes it easy to tune, then transitions to a secant ogive, which results in a flatter trajectory and less wind drift.
