Kowa 82SV 82mm Spotting Scope

Kowa 82SV 82mm Spotting Scope

Kowa TSN-82SV (body only - eyepiece sold separately)

Kowa has a long international reputation for enduring optical quality. The TSN-82SV is the modern iteration of Kowa's TSN-821M scope, which served for well over a decade as their premium design. The 82SV is a great choice if you want top-quality optics from a respected Japanese maker at a reasonable price.

Its 82mm objective lens gathers a lot of light, giving a bright field of view in nearly any practical condition. It is a good scope for reading mirage and seeing spotter disks at 1000 yards, and it also works well as a casual-use astronomical scope.

The 82SV is offered only as an angled-viewing design. Most shooters find an angled scope more comfortable for long sessions on the line and easier to share among a group, and it lets you use a shorter stand. Angled scopes take a little more practice to get on target; if you are tall, use a tall stand, and view alone, a straight scope is sometimes preferred.
